Included in this introduction to drama series will be the basic drama foundations of breathing, projection, and diction; as well as dramatic history and genres, interpretation of scripts, methods of character portrayal, communication and dialects. Students will be assigned after each class monologues, dialogues, narratives and vignettes to study and work on for the next week. During this course students will also participate in classroom presentations to build their confidence and improve their skills to become audition ready for parts in community theaters, and their grade school plays and musicals. This class is an excellent opportunity for students that have expressed a desire to perform on stage. Class participation and some homework and memorization required.
