Erica is a veteran to Carla’s Dance Factory, having started under the direction of Miss Carla twenty-three years ago, and was recently promoted to Assistant Director of Carla’s Dance Factory. Her twenty-three years experience have afforded her the opportunity to compete both locally and nationally with Star Systems, Hall of Fame, KAR and Showstoppers competitions, where she won numerous awards for her performances and choreography. She is proud of her Overall High Scores for choreography performed by her students at competitions. Additionally, Erica is still proud to have been a featured dancer during the opening and closing ceremonies for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Erica has studied in New York City at the Broadway Dance Center and at Steps, and participates in summer dance conventions with Dupree Enterprises, Dance Olympus, Jump, Tremaine and the Universal Dance Association. She loves taking classes with Savion Glover, Frank Hatchett, Jimmy Tate, Sheila Barker, Pam Chancey, Germaine Salsberg, and a host of other dance celebrities. Erica attended the Pulse and Broadway Dance Center Teacher Workshop in 2007 and 2008 hosted by Mia Michaels and Wade Robinson of “So You think you can dance?” She will attend again summer 2009.
This year Erica has been the technique trainer for the prestigious McIntosh Dance Team. We are excited to have them as a part of our studio and look forward to a long and rewarding relationship.Erica has been a tremendous asset to our program, bringing her positive attitude and energy to our studio. She is a student at Georgia State University in Atlanta where she studies Sociology. In October 2007, she was engaged to Dave Keating of Peachtree City. He is a graduate of the Citadel and is employed by World Airways. They married summer 2009 and reside in Peachtree City.
