Kristin Buck started dancing at the young age of 2 and ½ years under the tutorage of Miss Carla, Miss Verline and Sandra Gilder. She became a member of the original “Superstar” Dance Company competing in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical. As her skills developed she studied with Miss Shanda and Miss Erica and guest choreographers Thommie Retter, Derik Reese and Angie Clark. Kristin competed in Regional Talent Competitions, Stage One, Star Systems, Hall of Fame, Showstoppers and Star power. Her duet with Caitlin Clark won High Score with her rendition of “Down with Love” at the Star Systems National talent competition. She was a member of the Fayette County High School Dance Team the “Tigerettes” for three years. They competed in Regional UDA dance competitions in Athens each season. Kristin was the dance team captain her senior year. As a member of the CDF Performing Company, she performed in the Christmas show “From Broadway to Fayette Square, and performed annually at the Festival of Trees. She participated in “The Rockette Experience” hosted by The Studio when The Rockettes first performed in Atlanta. Kristin was a member of the FCHS Select chorus performing in annual Christmas Shows and recitals. She was a choreography assistant in the Spring Variety Shows, “Everything Music” and “The Reel World”. They participated in Clayton County Music Festivals winning first place honors. She was selected for Honors Chorus and was nominated for The Governors’ Honors program in Dance. Kristin was Miss Carla’s tap assistant and Miss Verline’s Princess Program assistant for three years. She is excited to become an official member of the Dance Factory Staff and will be attending the Broadway Dance Centers Teacher Workshop and The Pulse Convention Summer 2009 in NYC. In the Fall she will be teaching classes on Saturday morning and will be continuing her education at Gordon College in early childhood education.
